The earth is the
Lord's, and everything in
it,
The world, and all who live in it;
For he founded it on the seas and established it on the
waters.
(Psalm 24.1-2)
Living on an island accentuates a sense of the sea. In whatever direction, we are never far from our coastline. The earth itself is 71% seas, oceans, rivers and lakes.
This summer you may find yourself experiencing the sea in more personal and different ways - flying over it, sailing on it, swimming in it, walking beside it - tasting its saltiness, inhaling its smell, listening to its tides, catching its spray.
'The Sea' is prominent in scripture - as a place of miracle and adventure - as a source of imagery and learning. So, over this summer we will focus on different stories and uses - drawing from both the Old and New Testaments. Join us for as many as you can or listen via our podcasts wherever you are.
